I'm fat and I just spent 150 bucks on a vintage 1950s wedding dress that I can't even fit into.  Why???  It is so pretty though.  My dream wedding dress.  Maybe I can renew my vows or something.  But I'll have to lose weight first.  I got a groupon for a boxing gym, and I think I'll like punching things, so maybe that'll help?

Diet:
Start drinking 48 oz water a day.  Have a green smoothie at least every other day.

Fitness:
Get 30 minutes of some form of exercise daily.  Except for tomorrow (the 23rd) because I won't have time.  Long term goal to run a 5k on Dec 15th or 22nd.

Education/Career:
Rework that one paper I keep putting off

Spiritual:
Read my scriptures 10 minutes a day

Home:
Do all laundry/put away all clothes still not put away from Scotland trip

Money:
Return my shoes to Nordstrom
Long term goal to save enough money for Loupes and for interviews


Goal-spheres

I decided to set new goals for myself weekly, because I've been gaining weight like crazy.  Honestly, the food in New Orleans did NOT help.  I am now 20 lbs above my target weight.  Ok, 18 lbs.  So I'm going to call myself J+18

I want goals in a few different areas, because I feel like my life is spiraling out of control.  So, I'm going to share these goals with you, and then update once a week (Sunday evening) so I get held accountable.  I'll have weight noted at each log, and also comment on how my goals for the previous week went, and what my goals for the next week will be.  While they might change, my current goals look like spheres in my head-they all interact and all need help.  I may add more goal-spheres in the future, but here they are right now: Diet, Fitness, Education/Career, Spiritual, Home, Money

week 5 day 3 and week 6 day 1

i did week 5 day 3 on saturday... it was SOOOO HARD!! i wanted to stop... but i kept going for some reason... 20 minutes at 5.0. i did week 6 day 1 yesterday and my shins were kind of hurting :(. the last 5 minute run was reaaallly hard...... running is really hard and makes me want to eat a lot of cheese.

6/13/2012

How is June halfway over?  Blah.  I ran week 8 day 2.  28 minutes straight.  It was hard.  My GPS is whack so it said I ran 4.6mi at 8 min/mile.  I WISH!  I calculated it out on google maps and I did about 3 miles total  (including the walks) in probably like 42ish minutes.  So, running probably at a 13-14 min/mile.  Not great.

that was hard. i totally didn't want to run at 5.0... i wanted to walk at 3.0... but i did it though, so i guess that's good. 2 miles in 27 mins. ran at 5.0 and walked at 3.5. i think i ran the first 3 mins at 5.2. soooo slow. still better than before. blar. friday will be 3 sets of 5 minute runs... oh boy

Week4 days 1 and 2

Day 2 yesterday. Not too bad.... Ran at 5.0 walked at 3.5. Last 2 mins at 5.2. Can't imagine running 8 mins at 5.0 tho... I think I've improved though...definitely wouldn't have been able to run at 5.0 at all a month ago...I was running at 4.00-4.2 before...4.5 was a big deal! I hope I don't quit

Finished week 3 on Sunday. Ran at 5.2. Attempted week 4 day 1 today but about a third of the way through, I dropped my phone!!! Fail!! Do I got thrown off and didn't do this last 5 min run. Will try again I guess. Did the first 2 runs at 5.0 and felt really good too! Oh well

Was hard.. And I ate too much...which made it harder, I think. I noticed that the more I eat, the more tired I am, and the harder it is to exercise. Maybe I'm finally on to something. I should probably eat healthier. Anyhow...walked at 3.5 and ran at 5.2. Was hard.

I ate way too much today. Loseit told me. Oops. So. Went to the gym. Walked 5 mins at 3.5, ran a mile at 4.5 (took about 13.5 mins), then walked another 12 mins at 3.5-3.8....total of 30 mins. I'm lame....but at least I can still go a mle without stopping!

so 2 weeks ago i decided to restart c25k at a faster pace. then right after that i forgot that i wanted to get in shape. so i had to start over again yesterday. i walked at about 3.5 and "ran" at between 4.8 to 5.0. it was hard. i started loseit too because janae did...and it told me that my running pace was really a fast walk. oh well. i love to eat.

Yesterday wasn't great.  I ate a fatty muffin for breakfast, then for lunch a bunch of girl scout cookies, then for dinner a crabcake benedict and large malt.  It was GOOD but I should lay off sometimes.  Today so far, haven't eaten anything.  Ran week 4 day 2 in slow motion: 2.27 miles at 14:19 min/mile (about 50 seconds per mile slower than day before yesterday).  FAIL!  Maybe it's because I'm STARVING.

Well it started out good-ate just shredded wheat for breakfast for a total of like 300 calories, but then the idiots putting in wireless line for our county hit my water line, so no water for lunch.  Therefore, had to eat what was waterless: cheese curds (from Tillamook creamery.  MMMM) and thin mints.  Oops.

But on a better note, I did C25K week 4 day 1.  It started downpouring, so it was cut short, but I did 1.77 miles with 13:28 min/mile.  Running 5 min straight is HARD.

My LoseIt says I have 600 calories left for today... will have to have a small piece of pizza for dinner.  MMM.

I really want to get in shape.  I'm way out of shape.  I'd love to be thin and look good in tight pants, but who knows if that will ever happen.  What I do know is that I want to be able to run and bike and dance and hike and everything.  I want to be an outdoors person who doesn't want to just sit around the house all the time.  Also, I want to eat better.  So I'm starting tracking my calories.  I downloaded LoseIt! for free, which lets me count calories by scanning the barcodes for different foods.  Genius.  No more eating all the time.  Ugh, this is going to be hard.  Also, what's the deal with flaxseed?  I should probably get it, right?

Bad at running

It has been 10 days since my last gym visit. Finally went back today... So I did a mile on 4.5. I guess that's not too bad. I think what I'm going to do is restart the c25k program but at a faster pace... Maybe run at 5.5 and walk at 3.8. Maybe I'll download the app again on my new phone. We will see. I hope I don't fail...

Running=Hard

I am bad at running.  I got my fancy feet shoes yesterday and then walked about 2 miles in them today.  And I walked about 2.5 miles on Wednesday.  And maybe tomorrow I'll go for a run.  Also, I eat a lot, but I puked my 21 course meal up on Wednesday, so at least I don't have the calories from that!

My iPad thinks we're still in israel

It's really monday night, 10pm, 1/30/12. I can't believe January is almost over!anyhow, went to gym today.. Did 1 mile at 4.2 and then .5 at 4.0. Girl on the treadmill next to me was walking on 4.5. I really need to work on this...

so... i went to israel for 10 days and fell off the gym wagon. oops. on saturday, i went back to the gym and ran about 23 mins (total 1.5 miles). it was better than i expected, but i need to get back on this....cuz i ate a lot in israel and am really fat.

Happy new year!

So I haven't been running as concientiously as I should lately...blame it on the holidays. Last Tuesday (the 27th) was especially pathetic. I ran about 20 minutes total...with a 5 minute walking break in the middle. Yesterday, NYE, I did 30 mins at 4.2 (ran about 2 miles)... It was really hard. I think I might have pushed myself too hard trying to reach 3.1, so for now I'm just going to work on running 30 mins for the next two weeks. After we get back from Israel, I'll work on distance some more... And start OHR for real. Can't believe I'm still going at it, though!
