ran 2 miles
Felt tired yesterday. Didn't get to the gym until 9:30. Only made it 2 miles. Walked 1.25 too, though.

not too bad for a post Christmas treadmill run
Walked .25, ran 3.5, then walked .25 on the treadmill. No picture because something happened to the machine and all my info zeroed out. The first mile is always the hardest, but all the subsequent miles are getting a ton easier! Hope I can do 4.5 on Saturday!

hey there
I went out today intending to go 2 miles. By 0.8 miles, though, I felt like I was done. I kept going though, and by 1.8, I felt like I could maybe get to 2.5....then I hit 3 and though, eh why not another half mile? Total today was 3.5 (with 0.3 warmup walk). Not too shabby, right?! The weather was perfect for running. Sunny, clear, 49 degrees. I can't wait for spring!

I ran 4 miles without stopping!!!
I just ran 4 miles without walking! Stopped for a second twice though. Once when's car almost hit me and a second time crossing a busy road. I FEEL AWESOME. definitely wanted to stop 0.8 miles in, but I pressed on. I feel much better now. I think avoiding that huge hill by the library helped. Everytime I hit it, I die. Whew. Now I need to eat a lot of food. And nap.

today's rough run
Ugh. Today's run was tough. I don't know why. Ted worked from home so I went out when the girls were napping. I don't know what's wrong with me. Maybe I'm just not used to running in the daytime. Maybe it was the weather, who knows? It's 27 degrees and my toes are still a little frozen. Maybe it was because of my new leggings, which are tight. Or maybe it was because the French lady on my runkeeper app didn't tell me to think about all the croissant I can eat, so it made me feel judged (I don't know how but somehow a French lady announces my pace and time and usually encourages me with thoughts of croissants and pain chocolat...).
Anyway, ran 2 miles, hit the super steep hill by the library, and my body refused to run any further. I don't know how I'll ever get to 13.1 miles...

blah
Everytime I accomplish something with running, I get sick. So annoying. I've had this stupid sore throat for day. The last I was a little sick but went running anyway, I ended up with bronchitis. This time, I waited a few more days. Still not feeling great, but went to gym and did 1.75 miles. Feel like puking now. Don't know of it's because I'm sick or because of my new running leggings, which are pretty tight! My belly fat spilleth. So hot. As of right now, that half marathon is a very far away goal that I don't see myself reaching anytime soon. Sigh.

longest run (without stopping to walk)
My friend had all these massage sessions stockpiled, so she offered to transfer one to me. I wasn't sure about it, because I'm super duper ticklish, but my hamstrings have been bothering me so I went for it. Can I just say that massages are amazing and that they are what's missing in my life??? I felt so relaxed afterwards, and my left hamstring was so much better! I went to the gym today thinking I'd run 2.25, maybe 2.50 miles. But guess what!?! I did 3.50 miles without stopping to walk! Woohoo! Go me! I think it was the massage. I need more of those in my life. Sigh. Now off to stretch out that finicky left hamstring. (Did I mention I didn't know what a hamstring was and had to ask Janae what the muscle was that goes from my butt down the back of my leg? Haha)

running on treadmills is hard. and boring.
Walked 5 minutes, ran 2 miles, walked 5 more minutes. I'm totally off my c210k schedule at this point. Guess I'll just keep doing short runs on treadmill and save longer runs for weekends when I can go out during daylight hours. Meh.

c210k week 3 day 2 is soooooo hard
Three sets of 17 minute runs. It was rough. I want to die. Also, during the second 17 minute set, I encountered a very steep hill and had to walk. Ugh. At least I got out there. I just can't imagine running 4.5 miles without walking though. It's inconceivable to me right now! But back in August, going 4.5 miles was inconceivable, even walking it! I guess I'll just keep trying.

already behind!
I'm already behind! On Sunday, my back started getting really achy. Just the bottom left side. Something weird happened to it when I was at Patient First when I had bronchitis. I was getting changed for a lung x-ray and when j bent down to get my phone, I felt this weird zinging pain move from the left side of my lower back down my butt. It's been weird ever since. I think I have the sciatica. Anyway, I took the past 3 days off. Still sore today, but went to the gym. Only ran 2 miles. I want to cry. I don't know if I'll ever make it to 13.1. Sigh. Guess all I can do is try my best. And maybe go to the doctor. But I feel like back doctors really don't know anything. But what if I have a slipped disc? Ugh. So annoying. I just want to run. And run outside. Treadmill running is awfully hard!

about running...
I should probably explain more about the half marathon. I didn't just wake up one November morning and decide to sign up for one. Well, I kinda did, but there's more to it than that. Back in August, I restarted c25k after like a 7 year hiatus. I was about nursing and getting older and tired of being lumpy. Being pregnant with twins really did a number on my body. There is a lot of loose skin.
Anyway. The first run was brutal (I think it was a minute of running then 90 seconds of walking for 8 sets). I was totally beat after, and couldn't even sleep that night because I was so achy! I kept going though, and actually hit 5k about 8 weeks later. Pretty incredible, since I'm one of the least athletic people in the world. I ran a whole 5k race without having to walk. It was amazing and I felt awesome for finishing! After that race, I started working on c210k, but felt less motivated because I didn't have a race looming. I also got bronchitis and took a 2 week break. Oh, and I also threw my back out too, along with the bronchitis. It sucked.
While I was sick, I watched "Brittany Runs a Marathon" and it me extra emotional and inspired. Plus two of my friends had just run a half marathon. Feeling woozy with inspiration, I clicked on the half marathon button instead of the 7k button I originally intended to click on, and signed myself up for the 3/29/20 Love Run in Philly. Then I panicked. Then I googled. A lot. And came up with a plan. See picture below. My goal is to finish c210k in December and start half marathon training in January. I only have one week of wiggle room, so hopefully I don't get sick or throw out my back or something. Wish me luck!

Oops, I signed up for a half marathon
Oops. I signed up for a half marathon. I did a 5k a few weeks ago and ran 4.2 miles 2 weeks ago. That totally means I'll be ready for a half marathon in March 2020. Totally. And it's totally OK even though I can barely run 1.5 right now because I'm still recovering from birthday bronchitis. Totally. I've got this.
I'm scared.
I'm scared.

Day 11
Scott also did yoga. He may be better than me and it's annoying. I weighed 144 lbs today but I was 142 yesterday so that's annoying . I waited for like 3 hrs for this patient who ended up not showing up so that was annoying. It was an annoying day and I just want to zzzzzzz

30 days of yoga, day 2
she tricked me. That adriene character can’t be trusted. The description for day 2 said “stretch and soothe,” so I went for it. And now I can’t move. Me attempting the thing where you sit back on your butt and reach out your arms and legs was laughable. But I couldn’t laugh because I was sweating my calls off, and I don’t even have any balls. May not survive he might. Goodbye cruel world.

Yoga, day 3
i did day 1 of 30 day yoga (https://youtu.be/oBu-pQG6sTY) I basically can’t move. Also feeling nauseous and hungry. Very strange. It was hard. I’m very creaky.

Day 2
I did the 20 min beginners video again. My marriage might not survive the night, though. My husband ate a piece of cheesecake that I had been looking forward to savoring all day. It was the last piece. I had to eat fat free yogurt with berries and honey instead. First world problems.

Yoga with Adriene
I did the 20 minute one. Lots of cracking sounds and I feel a little nauseous. Hard to breathe because I’m still a little congested and have thick mucus. So hot.
Also walked to pick my kid up from school.
Going to eat some cheesecake leftover from Christmas. It has sugar coated cranberries so it’s fruit, basically. Will drink water with lemon, so overall, it’s like negative calories.

i went on a walk today
we walked for about 2 miles. i guess that's not too shabby. also, the word "tangential" is stuck in my head.
I done werked out
Sort of. I did yoga by Adrienne, the most beginner of beginner ones and it didn't make me break a sweat but it did make me realize I am really stiff and that I can no longer live my sedentary lifestyle that I could get away with 10 years ago, so here we gooooooooo 2019
